Common Ailments

Stretch Marks, Rash and Itchiness

How can I prevent stretch marks on my body

Many doctors believe that there is nothing you can do to prevent stretch marks.  No matter what the anti-stretch mark cream makers tell you or how much cream you apply.  Other medical practitioners believe that you may be able to reduce the chance of stretch marks if your skin is supple and well-toned.  Some say that lightly stretching your skin between your thumb and finger and then applying the cream may help in keeping the skin supple.

I am breaking out in rash. Help!

These eruptions are known as PUPPP (Pruritic Urticarial Papules & Plaques of Pregnancy), a condition which appears in the first pregnancy and disappears after delivery, never to appear again. It may also arise in the form of stretch marks on the thighs, arms & buttocks. An antihistamine, carticosteroid or topical medication might help.

I have a terrible itch on my abdomen

As your skin is in the process of stretching, this is only normal. As this continues, your skin will feel dry and itchy. You can try an anti-itching lotion for relief.
