Till date we have only player from
Hyderabad who has some repute in the National circuit, leave about the international
level. Uzma Khan was a real prospect during her junior level days, when
she was on a rampage, collecting all the major national titles.
But very soon even she faded out and presently she is not in the
country and is off from active tennis.
There are a few places in Hyderabad where Tennis is
practiced seriously. But mostly they are funded and run by private parties.
The Asif Tennis Club is one of the oldest
tennis clubs in the city. It has a history of more than a century attached to it. It was
established in the year 1887. This club offers life memberships at a very nominal price.
It has a locker facility and a gymnasium attached to it.
