At present there are very few Hockey Academies in the city, and
it is seriously practiced only at the SAAP premises in L B Stadium and at the Hyderabad
Hockey Association premises at Gymkhana and Police Hockey stadium, Secunderabad.
The Astro turf facility at Begumpet is the
first of its kind in the state and has given a boost to the young players who were
deprived of international standard facilities till now.
