In the happening city of Hyderabad, horse ridding, polo, show jumping, cross country and
all the equestrian related activities are taking place here. The place to do all this is
the Andhra Pradesh ridding club, which is located at Saifaibad (Masabtank).Polo, horse
ridding and all the equestrian activities are taught here at the club. The club is
affiliated to many other clubs around India. The Club presently has 40 horses and it has
more then 400 members. APRC (Andhra Pradesh ridding club) is more then 25 years old, it
has a spacious ground for learning horse ridding, playing and learning polo and all the
other equestrian work. Theres a very good instructor, who teaches ridding, he is a
well experienced instructor who has more then 40 years experience. The club has a very
good secretary and has a good committee. The club has student members below the age of 21
years and has permanent members who are above 21 years and has lady members also.
At the club everything related to horses,
horse riding, etc. is taught. How To sit on a horse, how to ride a horse and how to handle
the horse and many others things are taught for learning proper ridding. For learning
proper ridding certain rules have to be followed, ex. handling the horse properly, wearing
proper uniform or dress for ridding, etc. for learning horse ridding the proper dress code
should be maintained. The dress code for ridding is a helmet, ridding boots, breedges and
a whip. All this equipment can be brought from the club itself.
After horse ridding is taught depending on
the interest of the person and depending on how perfect the person is in ridding, then
that person is taught polo or show jumping. If the rider is good he or she can go for a
cross country, which is ridding over to hilly areas, lakes, etc. etc. on horse back
(Exciting).
Polo is known as the king of games and also known as a manly game. The game is played all
over the world. Polo is a game played on horses. Polo is a game played by two teams each
team consisting of 4 players and two umpires on horse back and a referee sitting in the
stands. Each player has his/her handicap, the handicap begins from -2 to 10 handicap. The
game consists 4 chukkars (rounds).Each chukkar consisting of 7 and half minutes.
Polo is played on ground of length 250 meters and width 180 meters. In polo the horses are
called ponies; the game is played with a mallet and a ball of dimensions 7.30 meters.
Depending on the height of the pony the mallet is chosen (any size).Polo can be played on
any height of horse. The game has its rules and regulations, Polo is a fast game; to play
the game the player must have total concentration on the ball, and his opponents.
Polo the king of games is also being played
in the happening city, Hyderabad, at the ridding club and at the Bison polo ground,
Secunderabad. The game is being played in Hyderabad from the year 1992, every year in
Hyderabad during the middle of September, tournaments are held and teams from all over
India come here to play the polo tournament. APRC team that is our team also goes all over
India to play polo tournaments. Our club has many players of various handicaps from -2 to
+1.For playing polo a player must have polo sticks (mallets), helmet, polo whip, polo
boots, white breedges, knee caps, spurs, etc. all this can be brought from the club
itself. Polo lessons are given after regular ridding lessons have been taught.

ridding, polo or anything related to equestrian activities, can come forward and can learn
