Khemani mostly designs clothes for men. She gives more emphasis to classical Indian styles like sherwanis, Jodhpuris, bandgalaas, kurtha-pyjamas, etc. She is known for her quality of adding a personal touch to every single design and fabric that she designs to suit the client. Her work necessitates an extensive use of natural fabrics particularly silks, samarn, mutka voile, cotton silks, etc. Kanta finds it very important to give her clients, good fitting and subtle embroidery, particularly for men, which she believes are vital.

Kanta is not fond of synthetic material for several reasons, including health. Her designs are one of a kind and she deals in all kinds of embroideries like Resham zardozi, antique work, zardozi work, proper Kashmiri work and fine machine embroidery in different color combinations. Kanta's exhibitions have been put up in Mumbai, Bangalore, Guwahati, etc. Her designed clothes range from Rs 1,000 to Rs 3,000 for kurtha-pyjama sets and Rs 4,000 to Rs 25,000 for bridal wear, which she sells under the label Kadambini.
