We have been extending education loans to students for
prosecuting various courses. Our present scheme provides to sanction a maximum loan upto
Rs. 75000/- only for education in India and Rs. 1.50 lakh only for study abroad. The cost
of education has risen steeply in the recent past, resulting in several representation
from various quarters to enhance the quantum of the loan both for domestic as well as
overseas study. Considering the representations received, We have though it expedient to
revise the existing scheme to suit the present day requirements. The revised education
loan scheme, both for studies in India as well as abroad, together with the detailed
guidelines, is annexed to this circular.
Branches and the administrative offices are requested to note the guidelines and act
accordingly. |
