" Mira Ayub Ali Khan & Mohammad Azmat Jaweed
- Hyderabadi duo caught in suspicion"

What Ayub’s near & dear have to say…

Mira Ayub Ali Khan & Mohammad Azmat Jaweed, the Hyderabadi duo was caught in suspicion of being involved with the US attack of terrorists, by FBI while moving from New Jersey to Texas.

Although the charges on them of being involved in the US attack of Terrorists were withdrawn, they still are held in the clutches of Law for other charges like furnishing fake names and ages for acquiring the passport. All this has indeed come in for a shock to the family members and the residents of their locality, as they first saw Azmath and Ayub in the Television News. The situation went even more worse when the duo's photograph was displayed in a local newspaper between two deadly Terrorists, explained the family.

www.khojhyderabad.com team had called on Mr Ayub’s residence in Shahgunj, Hyderabad and here is what his near and dear had to say about the whole issue -

Excerpts of the interview:

Brother, Zaher Shah said :
Ayub Ali Khan is my younger brother and being the youngest, is the pet of one and all in my family. Jaweed and Ayub were very good friends ever since childhood days. In 1993 the duo, in the quest for earning livelihood abroad, had applied for the passport and Ayub alias Syed Gul Mohammed Shah who was falling short in age had acquired a passport with increase in his age. They managed to get a job in a store at New Jersey and they were doing well. Whatever we have now, is earned by him (Ayub). He has given us all the comfort by his hard work. Last year he was here at home, got married and returned to US again.

The problem started when the storeowner, with whom they used work has sold the store to someone else and the new owner has assured them of a job only after two weeks. In the meantime the duo called their friend in Texas and he invited them to his place assuring them a job there. The day before the attack, Azmath has called to his place and told them about his migration to Texas. The other day they were to take a plane to Texas and the plane was withheld, under security measures after the Terrorist attack news. So, the duo in a hurry to reach Texas returned their plane tickets and was trying to catch a train to Texas. There started the entire problem when the Narcotics Department had checked them and being unable to find anything, handed them over to the FBI. FBI made their interrogation in connection with the Terrorist Attack, but the interrogation revealed them to be innocent as far as the Attack is concerned.

The only problem was Ayub’s passport, showing a different name and age. But, this is quite common with many a people who long to fly abroad for a living. What big crime has he committed with this? This is no crime that harms anyone. And neither Ayub nor any of our family members have any criminal record. My brother is just innocent who is being trapped by the US Intelligence. Ever since then, are we bothered by many and official and press, but we told what we know.

He being the youngest of all, we are rather worried and are longing to hear from him. Atleast some concrete information of their well being would suffice our tension. We have even spoken to Mr. Amanullah Khan, who visited our place and assured to discuss things with Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu.

Mother, Gul Begum said :
My son is an innocent boy and has nothing to do with the attacks. The Police Officials are simply suspecting my son. My son is a nice person and you can clarify with anyone in the area. I in my life have never thought would face this kind of a situation. It has been so long and we do not even know his whereabouts. It's a plead of an Old Mother, who wants the Government to take necessary steps to get her son out of this trap.

Sister, Syeda Fatima said :
My brother who is caught there is an innocent boy and has nothing to do with the attack. He was just caught on suspicion and was even decided to be innocent there. We request the State as well as the Central Government to take necessary steps to get my brother back to me. We are all eagerly waiting to know his whereabouts and longing to listen to his words. We are unable to control our mother in old age, who has only got Ayub on her mind.
