Dr. V. Nagesh,

H
ypnotherapist

Human life is a reflection of GM theory, Gold Mine (Mind) Theory. When we start digging the ground in-search of a Gold Mine we have to struggle a lot initially, but as we go on and on with our effort, ultimately we can capture the so called Mine.

Similarly by birth an individual is raw, as the passions and negative thoughts dominate his behaviour, he has to struggle to overcome them and reach the ultimate happiness that is Gold Mind which is thousand times superior to Gold Mine.

Says Dr. V. Nagesh, renowned hypnotherapist who had already made his enty into Limca book of Records for his marathon 36-hour non-stop scientific demonstration of hypnotism, and also selected for American Biographical Institute’s “Man of the Year 2002” award for his outstanding contribution in the field of hypnosis.

I have patients right from "Banjarahills" to "Basthis'". “Hypno” means altering the mind and bringing it to the state of ‘normality’. I want to globalize Indian Hypnotism through “Vedic Hypnosis” he claims.

Khojhyd makes an exclusive interview with Dr. Nagesh on his achievement of this international award.

What inspired you to take up this profession?

From my childhood I was very much interested in psychology. I used to observe the behaviour of the people around me and tried to analyze the reason. This basic instinct made psychology as a subject in my post-graduation in India and continued with Doctoral in Hypnosis in United States of America.

What is Hypnosis? Is it a Science, Art or just an instrument to mesmerize the people and get the things done?

Hypnotism is a positive science by all means. Let me make it very clear that it is derived from “Hypno” which means altering the mind and bringing it to the state of ‘normality’ from the state of ‘abnormality’.

I am not giving just a theoretical interpretation it is completely a practical science.
So, there is no question of Hypnotism being an art.

As regards “an instrument to mesmerize the people” this is nothing but a wrong notion prevailing among the people, resulted from the negative propaganda as projected in films and novels.

As a leading Hypno-therapist for more than two decades how do you visualize the relevance of this science in our society?

Definitely hypnosis is very much needed for our society. We are still in a transitional phase. Technologically we are ahead but still, now and than we are hanging to superstitions.

Every body has everything in the life but one thing is lacking that is happiness.

So, through this great science I had already succeeded in imbibing happiness in the lives of few and proceeding towards my goal of life that is directing people from sadness to happiness.

You mean to say that you are following the path of Gautama Buddha?

Not exactly, as the socio-economic conditions are different from the times of Buddha to the present day world. Yes…. the goal is the ultimate happiness. Through my therapy I will make the people (whoever comes to me) achieve immense satisfaction and happiness.

Do you have any specific class of patients?

No, infact I have patients right from Banjarahills to Basthis. I would be regularly visiting Corporate Hospitals as well as remote areas and the rural folk. I have special preference to the rural folk wherein still people fall a prey to the evil practices like “Banamathi”. In such cases, I am explaining in their own language by saying that god who had created us will never demand anything from us nor he does harm to us.

How do you go about in your profession?

The major areas of concentration are:

Education related: Mostly students to over come their stress and strain in the studies due to this unhealthy competition in that field.

Medical related: General problems, like family disturbances, stress & strain due to the mechanical life, health problems etc.

Crime Investigation: I hypnotized many terrorists and elicited valuable information. Many Central and State Intelligence agencies solicited my help in this regard.

What is “Regression Therapy”?

It is one of the methods that we adopt to treat the patients. We take the patient back in his age to elicit the information, which is valuable in treating him. As the abnormality of behaviour might have been the result of any incident occurred in the past.

To what extent can you take a patient to his past?

To the mother’s womb. I don’t think it is possible to take a person to his past life or what we call “Kritham Janma”.

Through regression therapy I can quote many instances where in I was very much successful in treating patients with problems in their family life, students and finally assisted the government Intelligence agencies in the investigation process.

So are you ready to render your help to the police department in the recent mysterious case of three women in Kundan Bagh that had come into limelight almost three months after the incident had happened?

As I had already told you that I had assisted the investigations in the past and there is no question of going back even now I am ready to help. But generally in police cases our Hypnotists are making a very good progress because we are under pressure, for instance the cops get the criminal and say that, ‘Sir this is the criminal, we want the truth within half an hour or so’. It makes our task a little bit complicated.

How do you feel of being awarded “American Biographical Institute’s “Man
of the Year 2002”?

I felt happy when I have received a communication to this effect from Mr. J. M. Evans, President of ABI. The letter says that I have been selected for this award for my outstanding contribution in the field of hypnosis.

What are your future plans?

I am introducing a new concept of Vedic Hypnosis after doing a thorough research in the Vedic litetature. This is a unique feature in the History of Hypnosis itself. Our rishis and sages attained absoulte control over their sense and mind. That made them to achieve ultimate happiness. So I had chosen this concept. Moreover during my demonstrations abroad especially in western countries, when I used to quote examples from Vedas, the feed back was tremendous.

So, You want to add a philosophical bent to Hypnotism?

Yes, infact I want to globalize Indian Hypnotism through “Vedic Hypnosis” and show the world that even in this modern science of “Hypnosis” we are ahead.

As the President of Indian Academy of Hypnosis how do you go about in Andhra Pradesh?

We are already organizing “Happy Programs” to explain the people as to how to make their lives happy through hypnotism. We are regularly conducting inter-active programs with the people and emphasize on the need to over-come the difficulties in their life. The best help one can do is to make others happy.

Finally how do you explain “Hypnotism”?

I would like to explain “Hypnotism” as the best answer for the miseries and problems of the modern society. It is a science, which shows us the way to control the mind, and ultimately is an instrument of social change.

Any message to khojhyd?

“Life is short and sweet, is the one, which has to be loved and lived, accept it as a challenge and make it happy. If you have any problem , I am always there to render all the help”. I will be available at 7847079, e-mail : nagesh@satyam.net.in

So, let us hope to make our lives happy and stress free and wish all the success to Dr Nagesh.
