OBSTACLES IN FRONT OF GATE  (DVAR-VEDH):

There should not be in front of the gate openings otherwise they may cause the defects mentioned below against each :-

1. Verticle street/road - The longevity is reduced
2. Tree - Damage to children
3. Corner of the other house or building - Mental disease
4. Well - Mental disease
5. Pillar/Column - Defects in females
6. Gutter or Mud pit - Sorrow
7. Water drainage - unwanted expenses
8. Temple - Destruction of growth
9. Liftwell - Physical or mental disease
10. Staircase railings - Unhappiness

But if the horizontal distance between the door & obstacle is reasonably enough and if a public road is between the door and the cause of obstacle, the effect of the obstacle is nullified
