 Paintings of different type
are seen to have been existing here from ancient times. The prehistoric paintings in the
cave shelters, initially done in black and earthen colours have now expanded to a palette
comprising of white, red, yellow, blue and green. The Art too, slowly began to jump off
the walls and on to the palm leaves and finally the canvas and clothing fabric.
This versatility in the artistic usage of
colours ranged from the multi-coloured floor decorations at the doorway called Rangoli,
which is done afresh every morning to the eye-catchy canvas paintings. Let us here explore
