KUNDAN
Kundan is yet another much acclaimed decorative technique of
jewelry. This is a Mughal inspired art of setting precious stones like diamonds,
emeralds and rubies in gold and silver. The gems are actually encrusted in a surround gold
leaf rather than being fit in a rim or a claw. The art actually can be said to have been
imported from Delhi, Jaipur and Udaipur.
Kundan combined with enameling and fine filigree work creates the finest range of jewelry
that attracts both Indian and foreign visitors alike. Articles with lacy trellis made of
twisted silver wire are yet another attraction.
