Lumbini Festival is conducted, at Nagarjuna Sagar, every year in the month of December starting on the second Friday and extending till the following Sunday.

It is a weeklong celebration conducted by the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation in commemoration of the Buddhist Heritage and is worth a visit. The festival highlights the rich presence of the 2500 year old Buddhist culture in the Nagarjuna Sagar Area.
