ALAMPUR - NAVABRAHMA ( SHIVA )
About the Temple
Navabrahma Temples
Sthalapuranam

About the Temple :

Alampur, the town of Navabrahma temples of
Lord Shiva is situated near Kurnool in Mehboobnagar district. Alampur is considered to be the western gateway of Srisailam, the southern, eastern and northern gateways being Siddavattam, Tripurantakam and Umamaheswaram respectively.

The Tungabhadra and Krishna are seen in confluence near Alampur. On the banks of these are built the nine temples enclosed in a single courtyard called the Nava Brahma temples, dedicated to Lord Shiva. These temples are known to be built by the Badman Chalukyas, who are known to have built several other temples in Karnataka. Some of the archeological remains from this site have been housed in a museum nearby.
