Prema To
Ra Ooh! Here comes the much-hyped Prema To Ra.., the Venky-Simran starrer.
It’s hard to believe that Uday Shankar, who directed Kalisiundaam Ra… has
directed this movie. There is nothing in this movie worth mentioning, expect Brahmanandam,
whom we see only in a couple of scenes. Background score by Manisarma is okay, though the
movie does not have a real outstanding song. The story is about a Casanova Chandu, who is non-serious about life and is always busy with girls. He has an elder brother (Suresh), a workaholic, who is in love with a girl and whom he is supposed to get married to. Chandu’s father (Murali Mohan) is very angry with him for his funky life style but it is grand pa (Kota Sreenivas Rao) who encourages him. Chandu goes to Ooty for a work, where he sees Geeta (Simran). And whenever they meet, the music of the song Yedo Oka Raagam Palikindi… of Raaja is played at the background. Chandu, who is very good at making girls go around him, comes to know through his friends that she is too tough a girl to handle. But then hero is a hero; he would definitely win the heart of the heroine. And he does it. He invites her for his birthday and they end up doing so called, a mistake and Chandu leaves to Hyderabad, without telling her anything and Geeta comes to know that she is being ditched.Chandu, after coming back, feels guilty but his grand pa asks him to forget it and the family starts preparations for Suresh’s wedding. At the wedding ceremony, Sandhaya (Prema) declares that she does not want to marry Suresh as his brother is a cheat and tells whatever has happened between Chandu and Geeta. And the truth comes out that Geeta is none other than but Sandhya’s own sister. Chandu, for the sake of his brother, agrees to get married to Geeta but then Geeta is not ready, as she does not want to marry a guy, ready-to-flirt. So, now Chandu has to prove that he is changed and is no more interested in girls and has become serious. But then its not very easy and he struggles to do that. Will she get convinced and what does he do to convince her forms the rest of the story. The movie lacks too many things to mention about. To begin with, the movie has an ordinary storyline. Secondly, Venky’s age is showing and he looks dull. He no more fits in the role of a lover boy. Songs are average. Ali as Venkatesh’s friend irritates you through out the movie, with his silly gestures and jokes. Simran is her usual self. Mink Singh, Asha Saini and Isha Gopikar, the glam dolls are wasted in the movie as you find them only in a couple of scenes and in two songs. Sujatha, as grandma, has too little to play but Kota as the grand pa fits the bill.And Suresh also has done his part well. The climax part is something, which is very predictable and it has been repeated in number of movies. If you have too much to time to waste then you can give movie a watch. |
