Paagalpan, a
review Cast
: Karan Nath, Aarti Agrawal, Bharat Dabholkar Harvey RosemeyerDirector : Joy Augustine Producer : Ravi Doddi Music : Raju Singh When a film is named Paagalpan, the audience is given a hint as to what he or she can expect in the flm a projection of madness. But what the audience do not expect is that the madness is projected in such a chaotic manner that at the end of the film, they feel that it was sheer madness that they put in their money to watch this film. That unfortunately may happen whem you go to watch Paagalpan. The storyline of the movie goes in this fashion -Roma (Aarti Agrawal) is a beautiful young girl with five brothers who can literally be called mad. The sister falls in love with Sameer (Karan Nath) amidst opposition from her brothers, but soon wins them over. Things however take a different turn when a ship owned by Sameer's millionaire father drowns killing people from Roma's basti. One of Roma's brothers, Jack (Dabholkar) gets to know the truth and is killed by the police. Roma's family now blames Sameer for his death and puts up all barriers from Roma meeting Sameer. The two run away, only to be re-united at the end of the story in a bloodbath. The first half of the film had shown some good promises of an entertainer, with the idiosyncrasies of the brothers put up in a comical manner. To take for example, the antics of Harvey Rosemeyer, a want-to-be millionaire and the body-builder brother Jack ( Bharat Dabholkar) are quite fun to be watched at. What spoils the fun and ushers it to chaotic madness is the violent second half which has too many loose ends to it. Ultimately what happens is the audience is confused . Kya paagalpan hai ye you may say at the end of it all. |
