Directed by ad man Kailash Surendranath, the focus of Love You Hameesha is on relationships and the strain caused on it by demanding careers. A subject that has earlier been tackled very sensitively before in films like Abhimaan and Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman. The movie has a pretty simple story line. Shaurat (Akshaye Khanna) works as a garage mechanic. He meets Shivani, (Sonali Bendre) who belongs to an affluent family and is mesmerized by her beauty. Shivani reciprocates and yet the problem is that she is engaged to Samrat (Amitabh Nanda). Samrat is a spoiled, rich, obsessive and mad guy, who unleashes his wrath when Shivani breaks her engagement with him after meeting Shaurat. Samrat and his father harass and chase the young couple out of town. He enters the big city with a purpose and dream - to make it big, at any cost. After a brief struggle the young man gets a break in filmmaker Ketan Desai's (playing himself) film but it comes with a string attached. Shaurat's heroine, Meghna (Rhea Dev Verma) falls hard for him. What happens from here is what the entire film is about. Moonmoon Sen's daughter Rhea makes her debut in this film, while fashion guru Rohit Bal is playing himself in the film, as Sonali's mentor in the fashion world. One major positive point about the film will be the class appeal. Unlike the usual family dramas revolving around the shaadis and shehnais, this movie has a very contemporary subject line. Director Kailash already has the experience of working with Sonali, during her modeling days. But the worrying part would be that none of the Akshaye Khanna films released in recent times have done well. Even the last Akshaye-Sonali starrer Dahek was a dud at the box office. However, ad man Kailash is expected to put in all his 25 years of experience and sway the crowds in his favour and simultaneously bringing charm to many others, related to this movie.
